I woke up exhausted to my cell phone alarm, got dress, ate breakfast, and ran out the door. A bad start to a busy day, made copies of my worksheets and got down to business with English camp. Today’s theme was Food & Drink. “I like to eat…”, ”I don’t like to drink…”, “I want to eat…”, and etc. I tried explaining the difference between ‘want’ and ‘like’ with food. We went over vegetables fruit, dessert, and meat in lecture. Again, I kept the topic and activities moving with reading “The Hungry Caterpillar” and “Eating the Alphabet: A-Z”, Food & Drink Survey, Food Bingo, and watching some short Pigloo Video clips from Youtube at the end of class. After class I ate lunch with the Principal, Co-English Teacher, and 4-1 Teacher (the staff of men). The Principal commented on how little I ate and I told him, through the translation of my co-English teacher, “My mother always said I ate like a bird” and he laughed. I eat enough to be full; I just eat in small amounts. All day class lecture was on Intro to Animals with a short/easy description quiz at the end. After the quiz they had a writing and counting animals worksheet. Once I corrected the entire student’s worksheets I let them watch a short Pigloo clip “papa pingouin” to sum up the class. I enjoy the enthusiasm of that class, they really try to get my attention and they listen well. After class, more prep time until the end of the workday.
I walked home and had another quiet evening in. I even took a nap after work.
